Jack Cody, a dedicated chiropractor from Greeley, Colorado, was born on August 8, 1947, in Sterling, Colorado. An only child, Jack grew up immersed in the beauty of nature, which played a pivotal role in shaping his interests and career. His early years were filled with walks and drives with his father, Jerry, exploring Colorado's landscapes and wildlife, which forged a deep bond between them and instilled in Jack a lifelong love for the outdoors. Jack's educational journey began at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, where he graduated in 1967. He then pursued further studies at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a focus on Special Education in 1969. His passion for learning didn't stop there; he continued his studies in the Master's Program at the same university while beginning his teaching career. In 1975, Jack married his Iranian wife, and they moved to Iran briefly, allowing him to explore another culture and teach English. This period also enhanced his passion for photography, capturing moments and landscapes from their travels. The couple returned to Colorado, and Jack completed his Master's Degree in Special Education in 1978. The following year, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter. Despite nearing completion of his doctorate in Special Education Administration, Jack felt a shift in his professional desires. In 1983, he enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, to pursue a career as a chiropractor. This field aligned more closely with his values of helping and healing. During his chiropractic studies, Jack intertwined his love for photography, choosing to write his thesis on the "Sense of Sight through a Photograph," exploring the intricate relationship between sight and perception. Graduating in 1986, Jack was proud to be one of the oldest in his class. He then returned to Greeley, where he opened his chiropractic practice and continued his photography, focusing on nature, wildlife, and landscapes. His works, characterized by their thoughtful composition and storytelling, were a reflection of his deep connection with nature. Jack's website, "The Sense of Sight through a Photograph," showcases his extensive collections ranging from the Aspen groves of Colorado to the rugged peaks of the Rocky Mountains. His skill as a photographer was matched by his ability to teach and share stories, qualities he passed on to his grandchildren. Jack loved being a grandfather, teaching his grandchildren to appreciate nature through fishing, camping, and photography, and even gifting each a camera one Christmas to explore their creativity. Jack Cody passed away on October 20, 2021, leaving behind a legacy enriched with scenic beauty, captured through his lens and cherished by his family and all who knew him. His life was a testament to his love for education and his family, bridging his passions through his professional and personal life in a way that touched many.
